ATTENTION 6-12 GRADERS! The Thrive Community Church youth program is known as AIM True North. The name comes from a combination of the initials of the first three teenagers involved and one of the first lessons we learned together dealing with heading in the right direction (towards Christ). We are a group of 6th -12th graders and a few thirty something’s committed to Christ and to winning Grand Forks for Him. We meet once a week to enjoy games, snacks, conversation and solid biblical teaching. The lessons are designed to involve everyone and establish good doctrinal foundation. We use handouts, video and audio and any other form of media that gets the point across. Currently we are using Youth Specialties’ “Beginning in Christ”, a small group study in six parts. At least once a quarter, we get together for some extra-curricular activity. Thus far we have gone bowling and attended a jam session put on by Thrive’s worship team. With summer approaching, many of our lessons and activities will migrate to the great outdoors. If you are, or are the parent of, a 6th-12th grader, please give Chris or Stephanie Soulies a call at 701-594-9274 for more information. We meet Thursday nights at 7PM on the air base at the Soulies’ house. Remember, the youth are not the church of tomorrow, they are the church right now; support them in their desire to be a part of something that will foster good Christian friendships and solid Christian teachings. Grace and Peace from AIM True North! |
